Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the JobThings platform at jobs.advisorthings.com (the “Service”), operated by Bruce Innovation LLC (“JobThings,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements and that any information you provide is accurate and complete.

2. The Service

JobThings is a job board and firm-research tool for the financial advisory industry. It allows candidates to build profiles and apply to positions, and allows employers and firms to post jobs, research candidates, and manage applications. Firm records are derived in part from publicly available SEC Form ADV data. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it current, and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You may sign in using email and password or a supported third-party provider such as Google.

4. User Content and Conduct

You retain ownership of the content you submit — including profiles, resumes, job postings, and messages (“User Content”). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and process your User Content solely to operate and provide the Service. You represent that you have the rights to the content you submit.

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, unlawful, or fraudulent content or job listings;
• Impersonate any person or firm, or misrepresent your affiliation;
• Harvest, scrape, or collect other users’ data without authorization;
• Upload malware or attempt to disrupt, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the Service;
• Use the Service to send spam or unsolicited communications; or
• Violate any applicable law or the rights of any third party.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that we reasonably believe violate these Terms.

5. Voluntary Payments

JobThings is free to use. Employers and firms may voluntarily choose to support the Service through pay-what-you-want contributions processed by Stripe. Contributions are optional, are not required to access any feature, and, unless required by law, are non-refundable. Support does not create any additional obligation on our part.

6. Third-Party and Regulatory Data

The Service displays information derived from public SEC filings and other third-party sources. We strive for accuracy but do not warrant that such data is complete, current, or error-free. You are responsible for independently verifying any information before relying on it for hiring, employment, or business decisions.

7. No Employment Guarantee

JobThings is a neutral platform that connects candidates and employers. We are not an employer, recruiter, or party to any employment relationship formed through the Service. We do not guarantee that any candidate will be hired or that any position will be filled, and we are not responsible for the conduct, decisions, or communications of any user.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding (excluding User Content and third-party data), is owned by Bruce Innovation LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service except as permitted by law.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BRUCE INNOVATION LLC AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bruce Innovation LLC from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, and limitations of liability) will survive.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in California, and you consent to venue in those courts.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
